I know that some of you have been following some of the controversy with American Apparel. I know that there have been complaints about their skinny models, and possible problems with unionization. Well now they are also glamorizing mixed people . I have mixed feelings (heh!) about the glamorization of mixed people. It's nice that the uniqueness and beauty of mixed people is celebrated. But on the other hand, it's exploitative and makes us "the new chic", which I don't really like.

However, it's not as bad as this call for mixed people to appear in a Mariah Carey video .

I have to say that I was surprised, but not too affected by the recent death of Arthur Miller. I had this reaction because I hadn't known that he was alive until the news of his death.

Oscar watch 2005- House of Flying Daggers

Last night, B* and I went to see House of Flying Daggers , which is nominated for an award in cinematography. I'm glad that it is nominated as it was a gorgeous movie, and I'm glad to see more international movies receive nominations.
