"Poetry is often the last resort for a lot of losers," adds avant-garde poet Christian Bök, Canadian winner of the 2002 Griffin Prize.

(For some reason, I find this quotation really funny.)

For some other reason, I've become a bit interested in good s-f lately. This month's Quill and Quire has a few interesting articles on s-f, which I'm going to recommend for the Canadian sci-fi writers in the crowd. (I think that's 3 of you).

Expect a few more posts about the s-f I'm reading. My weekly literary column topic will likely be on science fiction this week.
