Not much to report from this end. I have been busy, just getting things done around here. Today I head to Stettler, which is in Central Alberta. I'm staying overnight there because I'm attending a full day sheep seminar tomorrow. It's a 2.5 hour drive and there is no way that I'm attending a full day of lectures and driving for 5 hours. It's just much easier to spend the night there.

My work load will be ramping up in the next few weeks as there are two major farm conferences/trade shows in my area. So right now, I'm just laying low and enjoying the slower down time. Yesterday I worked on a short story that I'm writing, which was nice.

I went for coffee with a woman I'd known as a child on Monday, and went to see The World according to Monsanto at my local coffee shop last night. If you're at all interested in agri-business, I'd recommend this movie.

One of the things that I continue to marvel at as I explore the world of agriculture is how everything is related. I was reading my own publication Alberta Farmer when I came across an article on how Argentine beekeepers were being affected by the soybean market. Many farmers have switched to growing soybeans, and cattle are now being raised in feedlots. This is creating problems for Argentinian beekeepers, who are no longer able to rely on fields of clover for their bees. These fields of clover were previously used on the cattle.

It reminds me all of the wheel of life, and how one shift can change so many other factors. It takes me back to science, and it takes me back to Buddhism. I think it's making me a better person.

A help me post

I seem to get razor burn from all razors except disposable razors. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a razor that you can recommend for me?
