This morning I read an article in "The Globe and Mail" about a couple who had been married for 60 years. I like reading these kind of stories, because I like to see the way people learn to compensate for each other's strengths and weaknesses. Apparently married couples have a one in a 100 chance of being together for 60 years, so it's quite rare.

I have admitted to myself that for some reason, I'm scared of divorce. I think this might be because my parents and their friends have good marriages, and so I don't have a lot of experience with it. I don't think that I would hesitate to divorce if I was in a truly bad marriage, but I do know that for some reason, divorce scares me. Marriage scares me too, but for different reasons.
