yeah, it's awful. it's like disneyland...a complete concoction for the benefit of tourists, and the removing of the money from the pockets of said tourists. but like i said, NYC is about so much more than that...it's a huge and tremendously diverse place, where people just go about their lives as any other person would, in any other place anywhere. except that it's NYC...which, even for those of us who lived here, still makes it magical. it's like a jewel with many facets...so many perspectives and layers and ways of seeing things and things to do and be.
even after living here for almost 2 years, it's still sort of magical to me. but not the times square part! :P
