I couldn't watch the election coverage tonight because I was at work. I was just going to blog about all the books I've been reading, but I'm too depressed by the results of the federal election.

Yes, watching the poll results last night was somewhat painful. In my riding (http://www.cbc.ca/canadavotes/riding/264/), the Conservatives are king - yes that is 75% of the vote...(hey look, apparently the Conservatives are dressing up as the Green Party (http://www.bobmillsmp.com/). I didn't know it was Halloween..?) but I had such hopes for the rest of my fellow Canadians...

The only thing that is making it bearable is that it is still a minority government, at least they don't have total control... Ok, it really doesn't help all that much.

My fear is that they will lay a bit low, that the other parties won't let them do anything stupid and then, next time around, they will get a majority government and really go to town.
