I'm still in a funk today, especially after I trundled all the way out to Renfrew Community Centre, only to discover that my belly dancing class does not start until next week. I am prone to wallowing in funks, so as a deterrent, I offer a list of good things-
1. Watching "Hero" last night.
2. I am now the owner of a DVD player, which was a Christmas present from Mom and Dad.
3. I am finally registered in the BC Medical Services Plan.
4. My old roommate Laura will be moving to Vancouver in February. Laura was one of my roommates in Montreal, and I'm really looking forward to spending more time with her. She's only going to stay until July, but she wants a change of scenery and to spend more time in the city. I am looking forward to it.
5. Organizing volunteers for Gung Haggis Fat Choy . This is an annual dinner event which acts as a fundraiser for the Asian Canadian Writers Workshop and promotes Asian heritage and cultural diversity. It's a big deal as CBC co-hosts come out. There is a 12 course Chinese banquet and performances by people of Scottish and Asian heritage. It should be a fun event.
6. The Chicklit meetup on Saturday. I'm looking forward to meeting people, especially [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]. There's a possibility of a storm which may prevent some people from travelling, but hopefully the storm won't happen.
Just writing these things down makes me feel better.

And Hero is my new favorite movie. Absolutely love it, every bit of it. I even learned a few words! I love that. House of Flying Daggers was really good too, but somehow didn't move me as much as Hero does. (Although the main man in HoFD is gorgeous. Jet Li is not gorgeous, but he is wonderful.)

What do volunteers need to do, and, what's in it for me? That's the weekend I'm moving, so I'm not sure, though.
