Exercising and pants...
Yesterday turned out to be the day of much exercising. I biked to the Ricepaper office, where I chatted with the publisher and browsed some catalogues. From there, I biked to Tinseltown to watch "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants". I was proud of myself for biking to the theatre and back to my home, as I get nervous biking in areas of high traffic. Then I had dance class, which was pretty intense. After dance class, my bus zipped right by me, so I walked a few kilometres to the Sky Train station. Needless to say, I'm a bit stiff today.
Everyone in the cast was great and perfectly cast. Blake Lively was fantastic as Bridget and she has a gorgeous body. America Ferrara nearly had me in tears as Carmen, and Amber Tamblyn was good as Tibby. They changed her character a bit to make her more rebellious, but it fit quite well. Jenna Boyd was great as Bailey, and Alexis Bledel was cute as Lena. She did the shy, awkward thing really well.
The plot was changed a bit, but it still seemed to work. They also did a great segway between the scenes and characters and it flowed well.
I was surprised to see former Saskatonian actress Patricia Drake as Bridget's soccer coach! The North American scenes were shot in Vancouver/New West, which was amusing. The Wallman's looks like a Zeller's, and I think the airport was actually Vancouver International. If it wasn't Vancouver International, their airport had the same signage and garbage cans :)
My quibbles- the guy who played Paul had really weird hair. In fact, it made me want to laugh. Carmen's dad was a bit too young as well.
The scenes in Greece were gorgeous. All in all, I was pleased with the film.

You should've skipped the chick flick...
(Anonymous) 2005-06-02 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)I think Bradley Whitford, who probably played somebody's father or uncle, has weird, laughable hair too, but that's just me. DB.

I'm very interested in seeing "Sabah", actually. Thanks for the recommendations.
I'm planning to watch "Code 46" soon. Will comment when I do.
