Today we have to go and buy food for our trip. I got a hold of Doki last night so she can tell the driver when we want to leave, so all is well.

Last night I saw a man hit a woman in my parking lot. He hit her in the face, and then pushed her down. There were other people around, but I still stopped and stared at them for a long time. When I finally left, I felt sort of dirty.

I went out for supper last night. I had salmon with tomato sauce and peppers.
On the way back home, some drunken lady stuck her head out of the bus and started yelling at me. Her friends were embarassed, and stuffed her back in the bus and closed the window. The rest of the bus started waving at me, which made me laugh.

I just walked through a dust storm. I put my sunglasses on, and had my hood up, but I still had to pick dust out of my teeth. Yuck.

We met our driver and saw our vehicle today. It's a new Russian mini bus. It's very big, and smells new. Ingrid inspected the tires and everything is in good shape.

Our driver is very nice. He used to be a mechanic and ambulance driver, which is good to know. His wife came along on the excursion and is quite in control of things. That's good, because it means that he will probably listen to women.

So we got all our supplies, lots of water, noodles, fruit and veggies.

Should be good.

I was reading about the area where we are going on our trip. We are going to the tip of the Gobi, to an area which is not popular with tourists. It will be extremely dry, dusty, and cold at night. Ingrid says we might see some gazelles and some cranes. My dream is to ride a camel.

My guidebook said to take a lot of water, and believe me, we are well prepared in that regard. We have over two cases.

Well, at least I don't have to compete with the monkeys...
