Yesterday I didn't do much. I ended up watching movies ntil quite late. I watched "Big" and "Bedazzled", which were both on tv.

Today I took some postcards to the post office. They put these JFK stamps on them, which I thought was weird.

I was going to go climb up to this monument on the hill. It's called Zaisan, and it's for Russian soldiers who died in wars. However, it's still super smoky here, so I'm going to pass. I realized that I wouldn't be able to enjoy the view anyway. I'm just going to go to the Children's park, since I haven't been yet.

I have no small money left, and I can't find anyone who can give me change, which is really annoying. I tried to get change at this store, but the woman just got really mad at me.

I also want to make plans so that Jen and I can go on a trip next weekend. I think I need a trip.

The smoke in the city is really getting to me. Anyway, had an okay day. I went for a long walk and then had an AMAZING salad at this place called "California." It was a San Franscisco shrimp salad with lettuce, carrots, cucumbers and cabbage. Then I bought some fruit.

I decided to take the day off from working, so I just read, wrote some poems, walked around, and watched TV. I felt guilty about not working, but I know that tomorrow I will be refreshed after having some distance from the project. I also felt like I've done nothing this weekend since all I've done is write, read, eat, walk around, and watch TV. Oh well. That's excitement enough for me.

Anyway, I realized that I only have a month and a half left in Mongolia!!! So I immediately called this tour guide that Ingrid recommended to me. I want to go to Kharhorin, which is the ancient capital of Mongolia. I have a meeting with the tour guide tomorrow. Jen is interested in going and she met another American intern here named Dorothy. Dorothy may come with us as well.

"Margaret Atwood's writing is like cilantro. People who don't like cilantro can't tolerate it, even in small doses. People who enjoy it can eat it on just about anything savoury any time it's on offer."
