Remember how I said I was an extra in a tv show? Well, I watched about 10 minutes of that show tonight and concluded that I could write better dialogue while flogging myself and dancing the tarantella. (If I knew what the tarantella was.)

I'll admit that I like it when guys are taller than me. I've often wondered if this applies to gay men. Are there certain gay men who like their boyfriends taller than them? Or are there some who go for the shorter guys?

This inquiring mind wants to know.

Today I promised myself that I'd write a big article about my experiences in Mongolia for Planet S magazine. I have some ideas of how to start the article, but haven't begun it yet. Instead, I'm watching "The Rules of attraction", which is okay so far. Everyone and their dog is in it. It's like a feast of cameos of 20 something actors. My two observations- 1. Dawson (oops, I mean James Van Der Beek) is scaring me. 2. Could Shannyn Sossamon get any hotter?

Earlier today my brother was listening to Avril Lavigne singing "Knocking on Heaven's Door", and I started thinking about my visit to Avril's hometown, Napanee. The town smelled like pig manure, and all I saw was the inside of a divey bar, and a cold hotel room. I read the "Ottawa sun" and "the Toronto star", drank bad coffee and did crossword puzzles. In the town before, Kyle had bought me vodka shots and made me shoot them straight vodka so I could practice for Mongolia.

I'm also thinking about what I used to want to be. When I was eight, my dream jobs were to be a makeup artist or special effects technician. I would practice doing creature makeup on my face, and could do cool effects that made it look like my face was cracking. (My mom really loved this, I tell you)

And after that, I wanted to be a wildlife biologist and would save things I found in nature. I looked at everything under the microscope and tried to get my mom to save the blood from the meat she bought at the grocery store so I could study it.

Then I wanted to become an actress.

I don't remember when I started wanting to become a writer. I really don't remember that.

This poll originated from an email. What I want to know is-

Do you prefer science fiction or fantasy, and why?

I myself prefer fantasy, as I love mythology, fairy tales, and all sorts of mysticism. I tend to like fantasy set in modern day, by writers such as Neil Gaiman, Jonathan Carroll or Diana Wynne Jones. I also like a lot of young adult Fantasy etc. I'm not a very technical person and have some very childlike qualities in regards to wonder and the unknown, which is another reason why I prefer fantasy.

Whew!

Just wrote a first draft of the article for Planet S. It's hard to condense four months of experience into an article. I wrote about 1,700 words, which isn't too bad. I'll edit it tomorrow, and then go down to the office and supply them with some photos.

Extra cash, and extra opportunity, as they want me to do more articles, for as long as I stay in town.
