Two great tastes that taste great together...

I was excited to learn that Kid Koala and Amon Tobin have collaborated on an album. How cool is that!! I read a Canadian indie music magazine yesterday and learned that I am slowly falling behind, and have heard very little lately. That's what happens when you have a lack of money and leave the country for six months. It amazes me how little I actually care. Perhaps I'm finally growing up a little, and have hit the mental age of 19, instead of 17. Whew.
***Have a long day ahead of me, navigating the streets of Vancouver to get to Commercial Drive and Melissa's aunts house. Good news though, I get to meet [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], when I get to Victoria!!

That's in addition to all the cool things I'm going to do and people I'm going to (finally) meet when I'm in Vancouver. Yay!

It's Ray Bradbury's birthday today. He is 83, and his birthday wish is that someday, a child will read "The Martian Chronicles" on Mars.

Too cool, I say, too cool.

Other news- A Canadian filmmaker will soon be making Irvine Welch's (sp?) book "Ecstasy" into a movie. Yay!

The woman who writes horoscopes in one of the Canadian chain newspapers is named "Georgia Nicols." (hee!)

Just a quick update from Vancouver. My flight was earlier than I expected, so I ended up running through the Edmonton airport.

And yes, I knew someone on my plane.

I love flying Westjet; the flight attendants are hilarious and actually make jokes during the flight, which makes everything more enjoyable.

For some reason, I was surrounded by couples who kept kissing during the flight. It was rather odd.

When I arrived at the Vancouver airport, I couldn't remember if I'd come from Edmonton or Calgary for a couple of minutes, so it took me a while to find my baggage.

I ended up having no problems getting downtown or finding Melissa's aunt's place. However, I did have a strange encounter; I ran into my old roommate from Montreal on the street in Vancouver.

Canada is too small. Either that or I know a lot of people.
