And it's the Monday morning update.

Last night my parents had a little dinner party with family friends. I proceeded to drink enough wine to get a little tipsy. Not so tipsy that I was drunk, but buzzed enough that I couldn't concentrate on anything and had to wait until the buzz died down, which was annoying.

- I watched "A mighty wind" yesterday morning, which earned a thumbs up from me.

-I read "Hey Nostradamus" by Douglas Coupland, which I enjoyed. It was a hard and disturbing read, but my faith in Coupland has been renewed.

-This morning I had to organize all the keys in the office for Industry Canada, which was a big pain.

-My friend Anique's band won a Western Canadian music award for "Outstanding Francophone recording"!!! I am so happy.

-I need to stop swearing so much.

-These are just some brief notes.

It's about power...

I'm really tired so I don't know if this will make any sense. One of my obsessions is power; namely who has it and who doesn't. I've fascinated by the powerless, and the exploited. What gives you power and how do you grasp it? Does having power mean the ability to be able to make choices?
I have noticed that I am definitely drawn to people that I consider to have some form of power, but I also have trouble with traditional authority figures.

When I get depressed, it's usually because I feel powerless about a situation in my life. I want to change things, and I just can't seem to. But compared to so many others out there, I have so much opportunity and all the power in the world. More about this later, I want to sleep.

I have noticed so many changes in my neighborhood. The church attached to my high school is getting a new roof. My school is known by pilots all over Canada. The cross on the church is used to line up with the airport.

Near my house, there's a Hindu temple. When I needed to be alone, I used to hide under the deck of the temple. It was safe, and dark and I felt secure there. I noticed that the deck has been taken away. This change made me sort of nostalgic, but I also felt sort of sad. There won't be any more children hiding under the Hindu temple.
