Last night Dad and I watched All about Eve (Best pic, 1950).

This is a great film. It starts off slowly, but then things get more and more bizarre. Bette Davis is amazing and Anne Baxter's performance was pretty good too. This movie is the proto type for the movie single white female, and set the bar for cattiness. There is some excellent dialogue in it, which you can see if you scroll down the link I provided.

My dad and I loved the following lines- "You have a point. An idiotic point, but a point none the less."

"We went out to lunch as two girlfriends, wearing hats." (What??)

This movie also features a brief appearance by Marilyn Monroe. It won six Academy awards, but was nominated for 14, a record that was only surpassed by Titanic.

It's nice to be needed. My friend Pete emailed me yesterday. A local woman contacted him, because she's interested in doing an article about Priscilla Settee, a local First Nations woman who may be the first native Saskatchewan woman to be involved in federal politics. The woman (her name is Marguerite) is not a journalist and needs help with her article. Pete recommended me. So I'm meeting with her today.

I watched "Forrest Gump" (Best Oscar pic, 1994). I thought it was sort of mediocre and schlocky. The most interesting parts were definitely the "historical" bits.
