Letter meme

1. Lists- I adore lists. I make lists all the time; things to do, movies to watch, books to read, things to cook, stuff to buy. Oh yes. I love lists.
2. Library- I love being surrounded by books and generally visit the library several times a week. I pick up my holds, look at things, and wander the shelves. In the week after I was born, my parents took me to two places; the mall (ick) and the library. I have a lot of fond memories about being in the library as a child. Libraries are sanctuaries for me.
3. Lotus- My Chinese name is "Lotus leaf blossom." It was given to me by my grandfather at my birth and it's in a dialect that is unrecognizable to most Cantonese speakers. I can't pronounce it well. I really like the image of the lotus; it's about becoming and growing spiritually throughout life. I have a blue lotus tattooed on my back to remind me of my desire for continued growth and compassion.
4. Languages- I adore languages and learning languages. I studied French from kindergarten to Grade 12, took Spanish in university, and studied Indonesian and Mongolian while abroad. I have a bit of a knack for languages and linguistic learning. One of my goals is to learn some Cantonese at some point.
5. Lying down- Given the opportunity, I will pick lying down over almost any other posture. One of my favourite things to do is to lie in bed and read. I would put it among one of my top ten activities.
6. Lemon-lime- I like sour things; sour candies, drinks and fruit. I tend to really enjoy anything that tastes like lime.
7. Lex- A nickname I picked up in high school. Most of my older friends still call me "lex". Please do not call me Lexi unless you have known me for years and years or if you are related to me. I love that my nickname can be short for "lexicon". I have several lexicons given to me by a dear friend, with titles like "The Joy of Lex" and "more Joy of Lex."
8. Lost- My latest tv obsession. I really enjoy the show, but I don't like it as much as Veronica Mars, probably because there aren't enough teenagers on it :)
9. Leonardo Dicaprio- I know that a lot of people don't like him, but he remains one of my favourite modern-day actors. I think he's talented and I enjoy watching him. I hope he gets an Oscar at some point during his life, because he's versatile and picks interesting projects. Plus, he hot!
10. Lucinda Williams- One of my favourite rootsy singers. Her lyrics are gritty and realistic and tell interesting stories.
