The 2005 Golden Globe nominations have been in for a few days. There are some interesting things on this list. The Golden Globes are also interesting because they usually help determine the Oscar Race.
Even though it hasn't been released here, Scorscese's "The Aviator" is already in the running for a Golden Globe Best picture. I'm betting that it will be nominated as an Oscar best picture too, even though I haven't seen the film. It may even win, because it fits a lot of the Oscar best picture criteria. I could always be wrong, but if I was a betting kind of girl, I'd probably put my money on this one.
Here's why-
1. It's by Scorscese, a big time director, and stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Cate Blanchett. DiCaprio has been extremely into the project, and let's face it, the kid is pretty and has acting chops.
2. It's probably over 2 hours and it's a bio-pic about the life of Howard Hughes.
3. It's a period piece and let's face it, in many of the promo photos, Leo is wearing a hat.
