I have this theory, that some people get hotter as they age, and others are on the slippery slope. I started becoming a lot more conscious of age when I hit 30, and I started really wanting to know how old certain celebrities are.

I can't believe the difference between the way some people look. Mary-Louise Parker= totally hot at 42. Helen Mirren= totally hot at 60. Nigella Lawson= totally hot at 48.

Celine Dion, who was never really an attractive woman, is already on the slippery slope and she's only 39.

Some people have already passed their pinnacle, and are sliding down. See Keanu Reeves, who is aging badly. Patrick Swayze peaked his hotness pinnacle in Dirty Dancing, and has now slid firmly to the other side.

Yet some people hit their hotness pinnacle later in life, like Kim Cattrall, or Patrick Dempsey, who are much sexier in their 40s and 50s than they were in their 30s.

Now this begs the question, which celebrities do you think hit the pinnacle at a later age? Who has passed their pinnacle?

(Personally, I'm hoping that I still haven't hit my pinnacle, and will be completely hot at age 48)

The problem I have with assessing celebrity looks is the whole cosmetic surgery thing. As I understand it, the nip/tuck is as ubiquitous as toothpaste in a bathroom. I agree Mary-Louise Parker looks amazing, while Celine is looking kind of rough around the edges...but what if that's just because MLP gets better botox?

I refuse to believe Helen Mirren has been plasticized. She is all awesome all the time. I choose to think she's all natural.

Monica Bellucci, although I don't actually know how old she is. She doesn't look young. (I looked, she's two years older than me so in her forties.)

Sophia Loren, also. Michelle Pfeiffer. Susan Sarandon.

I have no idea for men.

George Clooney: Way hotter now that he was even five years ago, and definitely hotter than he was when he was a young thing.

Michelle Yeoh: The most beautiful woman in the world when she was young, but astonishingly, breath-takingly beautiful now. I don't think we'll be able to say the same thing for her co-star in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Zhang Ziyi.

Meryl Streep: Gorgeous when she was a young starlet, even more beautiful with age, like a fine wine.

Frances McDormand: Very, oh, I dunno, plain looking I guess when she was younger. Now I think she's got this beautifully grained look to her. I think she's great looking.

And a definitely agree with you on Helen Mirren. Looking at her in Excalibur she's kind of ... eh... but now? Ever since The Cook, the Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover she's been on a hotness upswing.

You though, I think are going to be a totally, completely hot 48 year old.

I think hotness is largely within our own control, and generally has to do with knowing we look good! You're totally hot now, and I'm sure you will be at 48.

Heresy! Keanu will be still be beautiful at 80, if the damn cigarettes don't get him first.

George Clooney passed his prime decades ago. I have NO clue why women adore him. He's totally gross to me.

I think Hayden Christiansen and Josh Hartnet will both be hotter later in age. They're both good actors but look way too much like teenagers sometimes.
