So I had a really weird stomach flu over the weekend. I was feeling fine until Friday afternoon, when I started to feel tired and achy and run down. At about 4:00, I lost my lunch twice. I then decided that I wasn't going to go to dance class and spent the rest of the evening lying around at home. This was followed by a night of fever, and then two days of recovery. Yesterday I was well enough to walk down the street and sit through "A Single Man." However, I suddenly feel a lot better. My stomach is still not extremely happy, but I can eat some bland things. I'm not sure if I'm going to go to dance class tonight, but I am working and will continue to work and get a lot of things done today.

My friend Tess had the same bug, and she said that it passed really quickly. I thought I'd write about it to inform everyone out there.

Your review was great! I thought it was hilarious and accurate. And I love your names like Hot!Architect!Boyfriend. And people in my theatre were laughing during the scene that made you laugh (the scene with the gun). I thought it was funny, even though I had my hands over my eyes for part of it. It was both terrifying and sad and scary, and absolutely hysterical.

Did you know that Young Kenny is actually Nicholas Hoult from About a Boy?

I firmly believed that C. Firth was gay, and that he was deeply grieving and his performance was great. I felt so bad for him since he wasn't allowed to share that grief or loss with anyone and was so isolated. But he also had some KICKASS glasses.

I loved the way it was shot and the whole aesthetics of the film. It was so intensely visual and the use of black and white was superb. I got really mad at J.Moore's character when she said that one line, and actually gasped in the theatre.

The woman next to me was also a solo viewer and she also enjoyed the film even though it was heavy.

Last year, I read some Christopher Isherwood, and I can see Isherwood's hand in the script and story. I don't necessarily intend to read more Isherwood, but the film definitely carried the feel of his storytelling.

Oh, your audience laughed where I laughed! Whew!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the movie as much as I did. It was just about perfect, I thought.
