Today's strange Asian product- "Fiance" and "Fiancee"
These are juices from Korea. They come in these little silver cans and say "Send for you" on them. "Fiance" is grape juice, and "Fiancee" is strawberry juice. The "Fiance" is much better. Soon I will be courageous enough to try "Pocari Sweat." The name just turns me off.

This is disjointed, because I'm procrastinating a little and taking a break...
I was thinking today that Japan should be high on my list of countries to visit. Not in the near future, as I don't have the funds, but eventually.
Here are some reasons
1. Zen and Buddhism
2. Onsen- hot baths!!
3. Sushi!!
4. Shoes and Japanese fashion!!
5. a fascinating history which includes samurais and ronin
6. Strange pop culture and general weirdness.
7. I love the Japanese sense of humour. I used to work at an ESL centre and the Japanese people always cracked me up.
To tell you the truth, I could probably make this list about any country. The only countries I would hesitate to visit in Asia are Korea, India, and Papua New Guinea.
I'd go almost anywhere in the world, given the opportunity. I'm a little cautious about Africa, due to the parasites there. As regular readers of this journal will note, I'm prone to getting weird skin rashes or infections. I'm also iffy about the Middle East, just because it's hard to travel there as a woman and some areas aren't very stable. I don't know if I could spend a lot of time in an unstable country. I tend to get a bit jumpy and anxious. However, I'd like to live overseas again, and while I'm not sure if I'd like to be a foreign correspondent, I would like to do big features or books on ethnic relations or different cultures.
But for now, I dream. Looks like Canada will be home for a while. I do admit, I would like the feeling of having a bunch of plane tickets in my hand, and I would love to have the thought, "Now where do I want to go today?...."
Back to work....
