I have a bad feeling that today is going to be a writeoff. I couldn't sleep last night. I fell asleep after 1 and woke up at 5. I was awake for two hours, then slept for maybe 1 or 2 more.

Needless to say, I feel like crap. I don't feel like doing anything.

I did a lot of work yesterday, so I don't think I need to do much today. My lack of sleep has resulted in a headache, which means I will spend most of the day lying on my couch. I'll probably go for a walk and get a massage. I also have my language lesson tonight. But yeah, I'm going to take it easy today.

So I emailed the travel agent and it turns out that the cheapest flight from Vancouver to Kaohsiung is $1569, which is really not bad. And it's on my favourite airline which is Malaysian airlines. I flew Malaysian airlines to Indonesia. They have great stewardesses, yummy food, a little thing where you can pick your movies, play video games and track the flight of the plane.

I also emailed Dave to see if I could possibly go to Taiwan in January. That way I could spend more time at home, live in a yoga centre for a while, and make some cash. I'm positive that the book store I worked last Christmas would hire me again. My cousin Nikki is also planning to go to Taiwan to teach English then, so it would be nice to head over with her.

Now I'm just waiting to hear back from him, which is sort of killing me as I'm the most impatient person in the world. Gah!!

Other lovely news- I have wonderful friends who have offered to let me come stay with them for a while if I want to relax and not be in Saskatoon. Sometims a person gets a reverse culture shock when they come home from a big trip like mine, so it's really nice to have that option.

It is wonderful to live above a French bistro. Today I went downstairs and had crepes and espresso for breakfast. The restaurant was peaceful, and they were playing good jazz.

Sigh.

So I went to the store and bought myself a cute denim jacket. It has a hood and red stitching and red buttons. I think it was made in Korea.

The salesgirl gave me a room to try in on. When I came out wearing it I almost said to her, "I really like this." (in Indonesian.) Duh, alexis, you're in Mongolia.

Anyway, I'm going to take a nap. I'm hot and tired.

I got bitten by a Mongolian two year-old child. I was standing in the playground/parking lot talking to this businessman. He asked me where I was from, blah etc. He asked me if I would watch the son of the mechanic who was fixing his car. I said okay, because I like kids.

I didn't like this kid. He tried to climb in the trunk of a taxi and I kept on trying to make him stop. His dad and his dad's friend didn't pay any attention.

The kid kept lifting up the trunk lid and then lowering it and I was afraid that he was going to slam it on his head.

So I grabbed him away from the cab and he bit me on the hand. Not hard enough to break the skin, but hard. I put him down near his dad.

Then the kid saw the puppy that lives in the playground, and he ran over and kicked her as hard as he could. I yelled "No" at him in Mongolian and carried the puppy away. The kid then saw the slide and started climbing on it.

After I saw that the dog was safe, I left. I had no desire to watch that brat.

My back massage was even better after the annoyance of being bitten by a Mongolian hellion.
