I am completely awake, which is a big pain in the ass. My dad came home from a week long canoe trip at about 12:00 a.m. and I had to go out and help carry the canoe in. Then the stupid jet lag kicked in, and my brain went into high gear.

As a result, I checked out my friend Pete's website. Pete has started up an anarchist/progressive mail order bookstore, which is cool because we sometimes have trouble getting these sorts of books way out here on the prairies. In addition, Pete is somewhat susceptible to recommendations from a certain book loving girl, which is nice. Spread the word, I say.

cut for mel, and others who don't want to read this )

Today I'm feeling a bit better, healthwise. My mom booked me a welcome home pedicure, and I'm doing some of the work that I need to get done. However, my priority now is trying to figure out what I can do on Friday so that I can be there.

If you want to read about the WTO protests in Montreal, a good source of information can be found here:

If I was in Montreal, I'd be trying to do work for them.

Found out the funeral is on Friday at 3:00.

I'm getting lots of welcome home phone calls and emails, which is a good thing.

An interesting development- the Rice Paper (magazine that I edit for) is restructuring and I have the option to be heavily involved. RP is also affiliated with a publisher that I'm very interested in working with out in Vancouver. Hmmm, this could be a worthwhile opportunity... I'll be going into the office when I'm on my trip, and will find out more then, I think.
