After reading the section in Barbara Ehrenreich's "Nickel and Dimed" on maids, I will never hire a cleaning service. The whole thing just disgusted me.

Who else has read that book?

****

I am crabby and nauseated today, for no real reason. I wish I could curl up in bed with my dog, and some books.

1. I hate being ogled by old men.

2. I wish people would let you hold their babies in North America. I loved how I got to play with babies and kids in Asia.

I'm not sure where this event is being held, but I just want to say that the Bloodsisters rock, and I used to hang out at Bloodsister headquarters (Elle Corazon) when I lived in Montreal.

I was trying to go to sleep when I started thinking about a video and song I studied in high school. The song is called "Jour de plaine" and it was sung and composed by Daniel Lavoie, a Franco-Manitoban singer.

The synthesizer in this song is really cheesy but the combination of the illustrations and the words in the song make me tear up.

I managed to find it on a government site for Western Canadian French culture.

(you have to click on the link on the right for the video, and it's about 6 minutes long)

Further investigation of the site revealed a song by Polly Esther, the band of my friend Anique- http://collections.ic.gc.ca/chansons/nouvelle/p_esther.html
