Anyone who is a regular reader of this page, or who knows me well at all may already know that I am an absolute baby when it comes to horror films. I refuse to watch anything that is even the least bit scary. I haven't seen "28 days later", and I refuse to see many films, which includes everything from "The Blair Witch Project" to "The Exorcist."
So while I'm very interested in Johnny Depp's new movie "The Secret Window", I probably won't be in the theatres to see it. It's the story of a writer accused of plagiarism. He is then haunted or threatened by some kind of psychopath. When I saw the trailer, I thought immediately of Stephen King. Investigation of the website revealed that the story is in fact, by Stephen King.

Though I can read horror, I can't watch horror movies. And since I relate far too well to stories about writers, this would add an extra dimension of fear for me. In my opinion, the scariest Stephen King novel is "The Dark Half" (about a writer whose creation comes to kill him.)
While I've seen "Misery", I'm not brave enough to attempt "The Shining."
