I've been working like a crazy person. From December 29 until January 10, I have only one full day off. I have some days where I work only 4 hour shifts, but I'm still working as much as I can. On the 10th, I'll go back to part-time and start temping again, so I have more flexibility to look for jobs.
I've pitched two stories to a local newspaper, "The Vancouver courier." Both are due before January 24. I'll let you know when and if they decide to publish them.
I'm signing up for belly dance classes on Wednesday. I need to do something physical and have an activity that has nothing to do with work or writing. I'm super excited, because I'm taking classes from Venus Belly dance. Even though I've studied belly dance on and off for 2 years, I have to take beginner classes. Hopefully, I'll move up to intermediate rather quickly.
Today I went to a hatha yoga class at
the Radha yoga house . This is the new yoga centre outlet in Vancouver. All the Radha Centers around the world are based on the teachings and practices of Swami Radha, who was the first Western woman to become a swami. Swami Radha also founded a
yoga retreat centre (known as an ashram) where I lived for a month when I was 21.
In other news, I have a meeting with an executive producer for CBC Radio Vancouver on Monday. It's not an interview, it's a meeting to discuss possibilities, but I'm still nervous and hope it goes well. Cross everything you can!!
