Yesterday ended up being a pretty good day-

1. Went to yoga and saw [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] on the way
2. Watched "Code 46", which was a rather interesting, if somewhat confusing science fiction movie. Note- Tim Robbins is HUGE.
3. Continued reading "Order of the Phoenix"
4. Started working on my Harry Potter costume, which is a lot of fun. I haven't done a crafty project for a while.
5. Smeared a lot of cortisone on my hand
6. Got a second interview on the job I want. (Please cross everything)
7. Had dinner with [livejournal.com profile] mirabillia

Today- work on costume, write up interview with Ruth and go to work.

I have recently discovered Franco-Algerian singer, Rachid Taha . It turns out that I have been listening to a lot of his music in belly dance, but I just wasn't aware who the singer was. Then one day I was in Highlife records on the Drive, and it was playing. I have since purchased one of his cds, and I love it. The fusion in his music is fantastic, and it's highly danceable.

Apparently, he also does an Arabic version of "Rock the Casbah" called "Rock el Casbah". This song was a rebuttal to the use of "Rock the Casbah" by soldiers who were fighting during the first Gulf War. I really want to hear it.

He had his Vancouver debut during the jazz festival, but I was too slow on the ball to attend.

Anyway, I thought some of you bellydance or world music fans might want to check him out.
