(no subject)

My roommate just gave me the coolest water bottle ever. It's a small Nalgene bottle and it's from Powell's in Portland. It's a "Kid Lit" water bottle. On the side, instead of ounces, it reads, Seuss (4) Sendak (6), Lobel (8), Pilkey (10), Cleary (12), L'Engle (14) and Hinton (16 oz.) The information on the side says, "Suggested Daily Reading" based on a 60 page per week diet, with percentages that include Suspense, Magic and Fun. As you can tell, I'm completely enamoured with it.

Idiosyncracies meme

[Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] has tagged me to list five of my idiosyncracies. I'm a bit odd, so I had a hard time thinking of things to list...

1. I hate sticky food. I do not like anything with jam or syrup and I don't like cinnamon buns. This is because I hate sticky knees. When I was a little girl, I would eat with my knees sticking up near my plate. They would be bare because I would be wearing my nightgown. I would wipe my hands on my bare knees. Sticky food resulted in sticky knees, which I hated. To this day, I still don't like sticky food.

2. I'm sort of scared of Kiefer Sutherland. Kiefer Sutherland was the bad guy in Flatliners, Lost Boys and Stand by Me. To this day, I find him sort of creepy and don't like watching him.

3. I love a lot of teen and kid related things. One of my favourite shows is Degrassi. I love teen flicks. I read teen and kid lit all the time. (However, I can justify my teen obsession because I'm the daughter of two teen counsellors, and I want to write young adult fiction.)

4. I love apples, but hate the "Delicious" apple. Those apples are not "Delicious", they are the spawn of Satan. Plus the insides are yellow, which is proof of their evilness.

5. I hum little bits of tunes and make a lot of weird expressive sounds instead of using words.
