I read this article about Richard Brautigan on todayinliterature.com. While Brautigan was never hailed by the critics, he played an important role in my development as a writer. My dad used to read Brautigan and I found some of his books in our basement at home. It completely changed my view of poetry. Before I read Richard Brautigan's work, I wasn't aware that you could write poems about mundane, ordinary things.
