blue_lotus13I'm working on a new story which is kicking my ass. I'm trying to get the characters into bed together right now, and it's not going well.
Yesterday I went to a poetry reading for a small independent press. It was quite a good reading. I met the new editor of a local literary magazine called "Grain", and got to hang out with some local writers. I learned that Yann Martel and his girlfriend are thinking of buying a house in Saskatoon, because they like it here and the prices for houses here are super cheap.
Last night I went to a performance of "The Vagina Monologues" with Heather and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]. I'd read it before, but never seen it. This performance was put on by the Women's centre and the Graduate students' association at the University of Saskatchewan. Some of it was surprisingly good, and some of it was a bit corny. Some of the actresses were better than others. I hope I get a chance to participate in it someday. I miss being in the theatre. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and I were surprised by the number of men in the audience. There were some good looking men there, but they were all accompanying women. You could tell that they didn't understand all the jokes.
I've been feeling rather low lately, and I'm not sure why. I think it might be the weather. I'm just sick of winter. I want it to be spring. I'm ready for change. I'm looking forward to treeplanting, because it will be a change, and something new to learn about.
