I've recently decided that I'm going to start writing letters for Amnesty International. I used to do this in high school, but I haven't done it recently. I generally try to do some socially conscious volunteer work, but I haven't been doing any lately. I've also been thinking about how much I have, and how so many people in the rest of the world are denied the very basic human rights that I take for granted. As a result, I figure that I can spend some of my time every week writing governments. In addition to putting pressure on these governments, I will also develop a greater awareness of human rights abuses around the world.
