A few years ago, I read Frank Miller's comic "Sin City." I remember liking the dark feel of both the comic's story and art. A few days ago, I saw the trailer for the movie Sin City . I was not looking forward to this movie until I saw the trailer. I feel that the aesthetic of the comic has really been captured. It looks pretty damn good.

Last night when I was watching CSI reruns on SpikeTV they were showing clips of interviews with some of the actors, directors and Frank Miller, and then a brief thing on how it was made (which I recorded because I was falling asleep).

Rodriguez basically said his idea was not to turn a graphic novel into a movie, but to turn cinema into a graphic novel.

The actors also talked about how detailed he was about getting everything to look like every frame of the original.

I am very excited about Sin City. I hope it is as good as the trailer is.

I didn't know anything about it until I saw the trailer, and it looks fantastic!

Rodriquez’s vision was to hold to as much of the comic book look and feel as possible. It was all shot on HD digital handycams in a green screen set so that everything else could be added afterward. He also brought on Frank Miller as Co-director and when the Directors Guild Baulked at this move he quit the guild. -preach
