1. Blink by Malcolm Gladwell- A book about the theory of how we make our decisions. I really enjoyed this one, and was intrigued by how quickly minds can be made and signs can be read. I think there's a lot of validity in the stuff he presented.
2. Liar by Lynn Crosbie- A long narrative poem written to her ex-lover, who was a poet (can't remember his name). This is a vitriolic and nasty book. If I was the poet in question, I'd move to a country where no one knows me and no one speaks English.
3. Emotional intelligence by Daniel Goleman- If you're going to read one book about the mind and the way it works, I highly recommend this one. This is a scientific look at feelings, the brain and emotions. It also describes how emotions can affect our actions and decisions. I thought this book was phenomenal and highly recommend it.
4. Addicted edited by Lorna Crozier and Patrick Lane- A collection of essays by Canadian authors about their addictions. A quick read, but rather interesting and moving.
