On Friday night, I experienced the wonderfulness that is Mona's Lebanese cuisine. I actually didn't eat food there (since I'd already eaten), but I have to say that the venue is fantastic. If you so desire, you can taste a variety of Middle Eastern foods while listening to live lute (can't remember the correct word) and drum playing. I was also impressed by the belly dancers. One of the dancers did some amazing veil work that made her look like she had butterfly wings. Later on in the evening, an older Middle Eastern woman encouraged everyone to step onto the dance floor. She had her whole party boogying and invited us to dance with her as well. It's been a long time since I shook my ass to Middle Eastern music, and I had a great time revisiting some of my belly dance moves. It's been a long time.
Yesterday morning, the roommate and I continued to practice our belly dancing. I may have to take it up again.

Today I luxuriated at the Absolute spa as a late birthday treat. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], another friend and I decided not to buy each other birthday presents, and enjoyed a day at the spa instead. We began our day with a spa, followed by a eucalyptus steam. We then broke off for treatments, luxuriated in the relaxation room, and ate small salads, chocolate dipped strawberries and champagne. I also had my make up done for free. The makeup artist put a smokey purple shadow around my eyes, which really deepened the colour and made them look amazing.
I could get used to this kind of treatment.
