Weekend activities and book musings

This weekend Grande Prairie is hosting "Wordspinner", which is a literary festival held every two years. Yesterday I attended a writing workshop hosted by Shirlee Smith Matheson, who has written 14 books, most of which are for a YA audience. The workshop was pretty good, and I knew about 8 people there. It's pretty amazing how many people I've met. I haven't even been here for 3 months!
Crazy.

Tonight I'll be attending "The chocolate extravaganza". All eight of the featured authors will give readings, and all attendees will get to indulge in chocolate fondue. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to this.
Tomorrow I'm beginning my marathon training. Our newspaper sponsors a press run every year and this year interested people can attend free running/walking clinics. I figure this will be an opportunity for me to get in better shape and get outside, so I signed up.
****
People keep asking me if I'm excited about my book. Yeah, I'm excited and happy, but I'm not thinking about it 24 hours a days. I continue to work on my next book and do my daily things. I think it's cool, but I'm already working on new projects. The best thing about this is that now I'm an author, and no one will ever be able to take that away from me.
