Notorious was a 1946 film directed by Alfred Hitchcock, starring Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman. This was my second experience watching a Hitchcock film. I like the way he uses the camera, and how he can focus on one little thing in the room. I also really like Ingrid Bergman. She's pretty in a very ordinary way, and actually looks like she eats, compared to some of the waifs in Hollywood today.

Bergman is a woman named Alicia Huberman recruited by CIA agents to spy on Nazis in Rio. Grant (Devlin) is one of the agents. Needless to say, they fall in love. Who wouldn't fall in love with Grant? Unfortunately Bergman has to spy on a dude who was her former lover, and he also falls in love with her, and asks her to marry him. She doesn't want to, but the CIA dudes decide that she should. The best part about this is that sexual acts could not be referred to implicitly, so they make things pretty obvious by using LOTS of innuendo.

As with lots of older movies, there's a lot of great banter, and innuendo. Hitchcock also wanted to get past censors, so he scripted a scene which included a lot of kisses, none of which were longer than the 3 second kiss required by censors. It's very cheeky and amusing.

My complaint- I wish I hadn't watched this when I was sick, because I couldn't give my full attention to it and I'm sure I missed some things.
