I added to my growing Hitchcock fascination and watched "Rear Window."

I loved the way this was shot, and how it took place mainly in one room. Once again, the dialogue was perfect. I didn't enjoy this movie as much as I've enjoyed some of the other Hitchcock movies because I had a hard time believing that Jeffries and Lisa were able to figure out the entire mystery from the tiny bits that they saw. I loved the ending with the menacing advance and the flash bulbs, and how the Jeffries character was worried that he was marrying a society girl and not one who was willing to travel with him. One of the details that I most enjoyed watching was the small terrier who went up and down in the basket, so his death hit me the hardest. I really liked this movie, but not as much as Vertigo.

I also watched "Scarface" this weekend. It was a little too long and over the top, but I'm glad I watched it for pop culture reasons. Michelle Pfeiffer is very pretty, even though she looks like she should be fed a lard sandwich. I'm glad I watched it, but I have no desire to see it again or rave about it.

I loved Rear Window, and the part with Miss Lonely Hearts and the real date made me cry. I like watching people, so seeing all the neighbors with their routines was fun. Then again, I don't know how they figured it out either.
