Well, it's our provincial election day today. I'm working in a zone house later today. I'm not quite sure what that means but I've been told repeatedly that I get free food.

It's cold here today (about -20 Celsius), which bites the big one. In other news, our new mayor is an idiot. He has announced a dress code policy. If you want to meet with him, you have to wear a tie or semi-formal dress. If you don't have a tie, he has one in his office that you can borrow.

This is a stupid policy, and as you can easily guess, is discriminatory against people who don't have formal clothes (namely poor people.)

The reign of idiocy has begun...

Today in Saskatoon it's "Job shadowing day." All Grade 9s are going to work with their parents to see what their parents actually do. I think there are three ninth graders here today. I've forgotten how young 14 year-olds actually look. It's a cruel trick of nature that you look gangly and zitty just when your hormones are starting to rage.

I don't know if there were job shadowing programs when I was younger. Since my parents are social workers and most of their work is confidential, I wouldn't have been able to shadow them anyway.

When I was younger, I sometimes used to wish that they owned a family business that I could work at to earn extra money. You can't get any extra income or pitch in to help when your parents are social workers.

YES!!!

All is right with the world!! The NDP government remained, the Conservatives did not get majority and the candidate whose campaign [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] was managing won!!

I'm very pleased with the election results this time.
