That elusive Saskatchewan humour
Nov. 1st, 2004 06:59 amYesterday I had a phone conversation with my good friend Ramona, during which we attempted to define Saskatchewan humour. I think we may have succeeded. Saskatchewan humour is dead-pan and quiet. It's usually self-deprecating, and about something that has an element of truth to it- like gender politics, or the poor economic state of Saskatchewan.
Saskatchewan humour is accurately depicted on "Corner gas." For example, there was one scene last season in which one of the characters said, "You know, I really don't feel comfortable seeing a woman play pinball."
