A man for all seasons won the Best picture in 1966. It's the story of Thomas More, who refused to acknowledge the divorce of Henry the 8th and his marriage to Anne Boleyn, as he felt that acknowleging it was heresy and a sin against the church. His unpopular position leads to his death. This is an interesting historical film, and I quite enjoyed learning more about the story. I was somewhat embarassed to note that most of my knowledge of the period comes from reading "The Other Boleyn Girl" by Philippa Gregory.

Jul. 21st, 2005 10:35 amYesterday I had to go to a meeting about a short contract position at Raincoast, which meant that two hours of my day were spent on the bus. Before I got to the meeting, I walked along the railroad tracks near Raincoast. There were a lot of wild blackberries there, and they were quite tasty. In fact, they were TOO tasty as they caused me to suffer later.
I also went to a new belly dance class, taught by Venus of Venus Belly dance. She's a great teacher and has an incredible mane of long red curly hair. It turns out that between classes, I have forgotten how to walk with a shimmy. So if you see me practicing that this week, I'm not happy to see you, I'm just practicing.
Today I plan to couch, maybe do some writing, and NOT think about job interviews I've had. Erg.
