blue_lotus13I got an email on Friday from one of my best friends in high school. I wonder if all the talk of our ten year reunion made her think of me. We've sort of lost touch. In the past few years, she's gotten married and now has a five month old daughter.
This news makes me feel old and young at the same time.

I wasn't feeling well yesterday so I spent most of the day in bed reading. Then I went to bed early and slept for 11 hours, so I feel much better today.
I spent most of yesterday reading "The republic of love". It's really quite an amazing book. Intricate characters and takes a look at human love, our fears of love and our need for love. One of the points that I liked is how we 21st century cynics tend to shy away from love, to regard it as obscene, childness or foolish. I thought this was all too true. I liked this story a lot. I've been reading a lot of Shields lately.
