The big scary meeting actually was scary. (not big though) It was as intimidating as applying for Concordia University's journalism program. I had to describe my background and experiences. I ended up talking a lot about my fascination with ethnic relations, and we discussed my skills and such. I think the woman I was meeting with liked me, which was good. However, she did tell me that I need to spend more time listening to CBC radio, and become more familiar with local issues, so that I can pitch and know where to direct my ideas. I'm to contact her in a month or two, and I may be eligible for a three day course on the ins and outs of working in radio. I guess it was a fruitful meeting, but to be honest, my stomach is completely in a knot. I didn't realize how nervous I actually was until afterward.

Prior to my interview, I began reading Pierre Berton's literary memoir, "The Joy of Writing." It is brilliant. I am pleased to note that Pierre Berton has messy handwriting.
