I was very disappointed by the Oscars. I didn't realize what time they were on here (as they start at 6:00 in Saskatoon). I expected the 6:00 start here, so I missed the red carpet and the opening monologue.

Bah.

I am also disappointed by Scorscese's loss. What does the man have to do to get the Oscar? Other disappointments- the dresses worn by Natalie Portman and Hillary Swank, the songs sung by Beyonce and the general dullness of the event.

I was so pissed off by Antonio Banderas' singing that I called up my mother and proceeded to express my distaste with a lot of profanity.

Me- What the fuck are they doing? Why the hell is Antonio singing?

Her- Ha ha ha ha.

Me- This is horrible shit.

Her- Ha ha ha ha.

Her- I didn't know that he can sing.

Me- Erin (my roommate) and I don't think he can.

Her- Why did they make him look so greasy?

Good things- Kirsten Dunst's hair, some of Chris Rock's jokes, seeing 2 of my boyfriends (Johnny and Leo), and Salma's sexy breasts, which deserve some sort of award. I also cried when Jamie Foxx gave his speech.

hahaha
Salma is so hot! I wasn't super keen on the long bangs in her beautiful face. I'm gonna make her my lesbian girlfriend.
yeah, I don't know what AB thinks he looks good with lanky hair, Ick. I've never seen the attraction to him. Maybe with short hair, but even still, just doesn't to it for me.

Hey! You back up off of Salma, she's mine! I <3 her and not just for her bod (although it up there on the list!). ;o)

Antonio at the very least needs to comb his hair, yikes!

My favorite dress (because that is what it is all about right?} was Helen Mirren. Fabulous! I also liked Sandra Oh Canada's dress and Sophie Okonedo is the cutest thing ever. Cate Blanchett was beautiful as always.

My favorite moment of the most boring awards show in history was when Drew Barrymore walked out and Darryl said to me, "Yikes! When did she turn into Sharon Osbourne?". Hee hee!

Hey Miss Alexis, I will be in Vancouver this weekend. Wanna get together on Saturday or Sunday for lunch?

Oh, I'd love to see you, but unfortunately I'm working on both those days. How long will you be here?

Poop! I'll be there from this Friday to Wednesday. If you are busy during the day, maybe a movie one night? Let me know! :o)

i agree with all of the above. but why must johnny darling ugly himself up for public appearances? he is so pretty onscreen and yet he looked like a heroin addict shoved into a tux last night.

Playing the insensitive male, I heard Jamie Foxx make a similar speech about his grandmother when he won at the golden globes. Sometimes it feels a little bit to much like people are fishing for seemingly unrelated emotional material to MAKE themselves cry and give a "memorable" speech. It can't hurt your career to cry at what is supposed to be the poignant moment of your job.

There's a good article on slate (http://slate.com/id/2114131/) about the Banderas thing; kudos to Gael Garcia Bernal for boycotting the oscars over this.

antonio banderas, though I think his taste in women and scripts is terrible, is actually not a bad singer, with the right material. He's been on broadway and was pretty good in Evita.

That said, he sounded so bad at the Oscars! and I don't think the pairing with Santana made any sense--the guitar was so loud too. Antonio needs to really wash his hair. He's much more attractive when bathed.

Salma's breasts are wicked hott. I totally want them.

Poor Marty. No matter what they do, they can't make up for the fact he got the shaft for Raging Bull. He's really got to break it out with a FABULOUS movie, or they'll end up giving him an honorary soon.

My thoughts were the same on Antonio- why, why, WHY?

Also, I thought that Catalina Sandino Moreno (of Maria Full of Grace) was extremely beautiful.
