A few items of note...
Jul. 26th, 2005 04:33 pm1. As of yesterday, the Robson Street Chapters is the first to have a union.
2. I'm working at Raincoast for most of next week, and possibly the week after that. I picked a whole bunch of blackberries out near the office today, and I plan to eat them with ice cream.
3. Unfortunately, I'm working most of Pride weekend and will be missing the Powell Street festival as well. I really wanted to go see the Pride parade, as I've only seen the one in Montreal. It looks as though I might get to see the Dyke march and the Stonewall festival, as both are right near my house. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and I might go see some queer films that explore race(yay) on Thursday night.
I'm not sure why, but the lesbian community seems to be much more active in Vancouver than in Montreal. I encountered a lot of gay men in Montreal, but lesbians were not as visible. There were a small group of them that marched in the Pride parade, but I really did not see or meet a lot of them. A friend of mine who dates both men and women says that she had a hard time meeting queer women in Montreal, but that certainly isn't the case here. Perhaps the queer women are French speakers?
